Shards of Dalaya，以前叫Winter's Roar。是用EQEmu架设的一个Everquest服务器。据说其历史和Everquest一样长，后来由于名气太大，在SOE的强大压力下不得不关闭。服务器在线人数基本在300-500左右。Shards of Dalaya仍然是免费的，借用SOE EQ设定，但是做了很大的修改，包括背景故事、地图、魔法、物品……

Willfully refusing to read the rules and policies of Shards of Dalaya means that you do not respect the effort put into the server enough to take even five minutes to familiarize yourself with the rules put down by its creators. If you are incapable of such a simple curtesy, we do not want you playing, and will ban your account.
2. This is our sandbox, not yours
We reserve the right to any time, for any reason, deny you access to Shards of Dalaya.
3. Be without greed in your heart
You may not attempt to sell your account, items, or any other SOD data for any kind of real currency or real life items/services, nor may you attempt to trade it for in-game items, in-game favors, or essentially request any form of payment at all. Accounts that are sold or traded in this manner will be banned. You are permitted to give your account access away for free to others.
4. Be ever vigilant
If you become aware, or encounter a bug within the game that can be used to your or any other players' advantage, do NOT use it. Report ALL bugs to the buglist on this webpage or report it using the ingame /bug command.and direct it to your EQ folder. Click the Patch and Run button.
5. Adjust your behaviour
Show proper conduct in dealing with other players. Deliberate training, killstealing, griefing, excessive vulgarity or otherwise being a prick to other players will result in severe repercussions to yourself. We try to maintain a friendly attitude and have no place for the socially lacking.
6. Some things are not for your eyes to see
Do not use third-party tools or clever manipulations of the client to in any way acquire knowledge you should not be privy to such as stats of items, locations or loot lists of mobs, or similar. Using Log Parsers, telling others of quests, drops or suchlike information you have aquired in a legit way (for example by killing the mob in question) is perfectly fine, as is making a spoiler site if you should feel like doing this. In a similar vein, using third-party programs or essentially anything except for EverQuest's own hotkeys to repeatedly perform actions for you (macroing) is not permitted, and if found macroing you will be banned on sight.
7. Do not displease the Lord Kaezul
When you find yourself in a roleplay event or situation, you are required to stay in character in any non-private channels. This means you don't greet Lord Kaezul with "wahts ur equip" and you don't go "lol ur gay" to the Kobold General. Just try to use some common sense, how would your character react? This does not affect regular hunting/farming/strolling, just GM run events/characters. Also note that the /ooc channel is exempt from this, but note that GM RP characters will not be viewing this channel.
8. Know your place, and thrive within it
When you have an issue, do not instantly go to the higher echelons of the staff with it. You do not need a GM-Admin to move your level 2 froglok out of a hole in the ground. ESPECIALLY do not bother Wiz with anything that ANYONE ELSE can take care of. Doing so will result in harsh repercussions. To be on the safe side, ask a GM wheter your issue is appropriate to bring to Wiz. For your own good. GMs will escalate issues as needed.
9. Two children, and only two
No more than two clients are allowed to be played by the same person at the same time. Different computers or the same does not matter. You are allowed to dual-client/comp, you are just not allowed to tri-client/comp. So you can play a warrior and a cleric at the same time, but you cannot play a warrior, a cleric and a paladin at the same time. You may of course play a warrior, cleric and paladin and alternate between which two you play at the same time. It does not matter if you simply logged your enchanter in to buff the other two characters for a minute - you will be equally harshly punished as someone who played three characters for several hours. This rule is NOT ip-based. You are allowed to play more than two characters from a single IP/location, as long as these characters are being controlled by no less than one real person per two characters. We have ways of determining if there is a single person playing three characters at once (against the rules) or a married couple playing two characters at once each (not against the rules), for example.
10. It is not for you to question your betters
We do not exist to service you. We do not get paid for this. GMs will not always be available, even if online, because quite simply, if GMs were forced to GM all the time, they would be burnt out within a week. GMs are permitted to have player characters and to raid, as long as they in no way use commands, information or privileges available to their GM personas to promote themselves, their guild, their friends, or well, anyone else. We are very strict about GM abuse on SoD, and that also means we do not enjoy having rumors spread about us. Spreading rumors to other players about GM corruption will result in a big, fat ban. If you have valid concerns about a GM, take it up with a GM Admin in private. If you have valid concerns about a GM Admin, take it up with Wiz. Again, in private.
11. Show respect, and it shall be shown to you
Female players deserve to be able to play without being constantly hit on or being the target of crude sexual jokes. While on SoD, keep all your hormones in check and make sure the target of your affections is a willing target. Believe it or not, women are people too. That one is friendly to you does not mean she desires you. Of course, this rule applies equally if the genders are swapped, but it has particular emphasis on harrassing female players since it's been a considerable problem in the past. Sexual harrassment or stalking of another player is NEVER permissable.
12. Leave to Caesar what is Caesar's
You are not a GM. This means that it is not your duty to enforce the naming policy. Do not complain about other players' names or other minor infractions in OOC, babble on about player X training player Y, or otherwise try to do the staff's jobs. /petition bad names and other rule breeches, and leave it out of the public channels. While we greatly appreciate it being brought to our attention, doing so in a public manner is counterproductive and disruptive.
13. It is not WHEN but HOW
Do not ask for ETAs (Estimated Times) on patches, reboots, bug fixes, feature implementations or well basically anything. We don't work according to fixed scheudles, and while our downtimes are usually short, occasionally they are extended to fix a thing or two. We like having things dynamic because ultimately they make them faster. So yeah. Don't ask.
14. Hold your ground and you shall lose it
We do not recognize camps in any shape or form. "Rights" to a mob in the eyes of the staff belongs to whoever engaged it first. Anything beyond this very simple rule is for players to settle.
15. Control your input, lest it be wasted
Use the bug list on the web page or the /bug command in-game to report bugs. Do NOT petition bugs. Your petition will be deleted and ignored. Likewise, do not use the buglist for petitions. They will also be deleted and ignored. Do not complain about bugs not being fixed if you're not even willing to put a five-second effort to report it. We try to handle most bugs in a timely manner, but please don't expect instant turnaround or acknowledgement on most bugs.
16. Many roads lead to Jail

Naming policy
1. Titles
No titles. You can't be "Lordgrey" or "Jackthegreat". Sorry.
2. Stupid or Well-Known Names
No names from well-known, popular media. You can't be Aragorn, Gandalf or Garfield. On that note, no unrealistic or completely idiotic names either. "Rogue" or "Iksar" are not acceptable names.
3. Wordplays and Wordmeshes
No wordplays. "Froak Frog" is not an acceptable name, nor is Frog or Froak by itself, but those go under idiotic names anyway. In the same avenue, no combine-word names. You can't be Rockjumper or Swordswinger or Deathdancer. These are acceptable last names, but not acceptable first names.
4. Gibberish Go Away
Your name must be something resembling a name. You can't be Xbaihjsfa, Qwwwwb or otherwise have a name with no wovels like Fgbnm or Xfds.
5. The Linguistic Lambada
Cleverly bypassing the naming policy by using a different language, spelling it differently/backwards or using an obvious anagram will not win you any sympathy points. We will still change your name when we find out.
6. Kooky Combinations
If you create a pair of characters with names that carry an obvious meaning together, or form a word play together (for example Louise and Thelma) they will be changed even if the individual names do not violate policy. This rule does not apply to simply having two similarily named characters, such as Ling and Leng or Ling and Gnil.
7. Even Then!
That "you used this name on live" does not mean it magically bypasses the policy. We will not tolerate this excuse. Use the rules here, not the non-existant name rules on EQlive.
8. Spirit of the Law
Finally, the rules above are a guideline for staffers, not an absolute set of rules, so use common sense and try to follow the spirit of the law. If you feel your name has been unjustly changed, send an email to
